At least having a tuxedo isn't out of place because it is extremely flattering giving a man's body a tapered. You don't have to look for anything exotic or luxurious-a simple herringbone tweed or even a soft corduroy is affordable,distinguished and flexible enough to be worn at various level of dress.
Plain coloured shirts can be easy to match but it is usually boring. So go for large,bold stripes that are stylish.
